What this article is going to present four brief points to help you succeed at loosing weight and be able to keep it off. Not only should you be able to succeed at dieting, but be happy about it. What is the point of loosing weight if you are going to be unhappy all the time you are trying to succeed. That brings me to point one of why can't I lose weight.
1. Be realistic about your weight. Before you begin any diet program go to your doctor to find out what a realistic weight is for you. Perhaps your nature, your genes, you can not be a size 4. If you try to be a size that your genetic nature says you are not you are setting yourself up for failure. That is not to say you can not be a size 4, but at what cost? Do you really want to be constantly struggling with your weight, and finding you are unhappy. Like everyone e not doctors, hockey players, baseball players, the same everyone can not be a size 4. I can remember when I was a young boy thinking about what future career I would take. I thought at the time I wanted to be a minister, a member of the clergy. A friend of mine tried to tell me that everyone is not meant for that field, but what did I hear? You see, I had a speech impediment, so I thought he was looking down at me. I became a minister, but discovered after several years that I was unhappy, trying to be someone I was not. The same way is with our shape we must not try to be some one we are not. If we accept this first principle we will discover we can be a lot more happier and have placed our foot on the right track to success.
2. Join a program with a friend. Most of the diet programs will bring you success, but if you can join a program with a friend you can encourage one another. Some people can diet on their own and find success. If you are having problems losing weight and problems keeping it off, this should tell you that you need to do this with a friend. You may say, I do not have any friends or family members who need to loose weight, if that is the case your family member can encourage you, by going with you, and keeping a record of your program. By partnering with a friend can actually be fun for the both of you, and you may also discover that you building a stronger bond with this person.
3. We discovered that being realistic is a much. Having a good healthy dieting program is important and trying to lose weight with out exercise is silly. What you must also do is speak positively to your self on a daily bases. Point 3 is have a positive attitude. Write a list of the positive things that you will receive by losing weight and read this list out loud to your self on a daily bases. Tell yourself that you are going to succeed. This list and this approach will have a positive effect on your mood and able to find joy in losing weight. Whatever, you may think about losing weight our attitude is a very important part of our success. Have you ever being around a negative person, and discovered that you are becoming negative yourself. Negativity is a powerful mood drainer. Negativity sucks life out of us. For that matter, we should try in life to avoid those who are constantly negative they are no good for us no matter if we need to lose weight or not.
4. Finally set goals. Know how much weight you need to lose, and set reward. Each time you discover you have lost a few pound reward yourself. I do not mean reward yourself buy eating a piece of cake, but by buying for yourself. You may say, I can not afford to do that well you can reward yourself and it will not cost you money. Remember what we used to do for children. We set up charts and give them gold stars when they succeed. That may seem silly and childish, but it works. You know their is still a child in each of us. Sometimes we need to tap in that child to find success and happiness. The decision is yours, what do you want to do. Do you want to lose those pounds? Do you want to feel good about yourself? Do you want to have a positive attitude? The decision is yours.
